Pahautea Lands Trust – 2026 Education Scholarship / Grant Applications

The Trust has limited Education Grants available in 2026.

Completed applications must be received by 31 March 2026.  Late applications will not be accepted.

Information For Applicants:

1. For a student to be eligible for this Education Grant their parent or grandparent must be an OWNER or the NATURAL ISSUE OF AN OWNER (beneficiary) in the Pahautea Lands Blocks.
2. The following are eligible to apply for an Education Grant provided they are full time students.

– University Students, including post graduate students studying for a Degree

– Polytechnic, Technical Institute or Wananga students studying for a Diploma or Certificate

– Secondary School Students in Years 12 or 13

3. By signing the application form you agree and acknowledge that should your application be successful, details of your application may be included in an annual report to any owners meeting.
4. Failure to provide requested information may result in your application being incomplete and declined.
5. Applications must be lodged by 31 March 2025, late applications will not be accepted.
6. No overseas applications will be accepted. The Owner, beneficiary and applicant must reside in New Zealand.
7. All information and applications will be considered by a panel of responsible trustees, however as there are a limited amount of grants available, all scholarships and grants are awarded on entitlement. The Trust has the sole discretion to accept or decline any application that does not meet the criteria.

Before sending the application please check:

• application form is completed in full and signed
• first time applicants – include your Whakapapa signed by your Kaumatua
• include confirmation of your course or secondary school enrolment
• include confirmation of your course fees (course invoice or enrolment confirmation with fees details)
• include a copy of your previous academic record
• Include either your course provider’s bank account details (course invoice or enrolment confirmation) or a printed confirmation of your bank account name and number.
